Day 1: Ullswater waterfall walk and Keswick

Walk around Ullswater, one of Britain’s most scenic lakes and a favourite spot of William Wordsworth.
Lunch

A homemade British picnic lunch mid walk with views over Ullswater lake (included in the price)

PM

Complete Ullswater walk

Excursion to Keswick, on the banks of Ullswater. One of the lakes most beautiful and quaint towns.

£ Dinner at a restaurant of your choice in Keswick (local recommendations available from your guide)

Transport to Wasdale Head for evening accommodation, the location of England’s highest mountain, deepest lake and smallest church

Day 2: Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, Great Gable, or a short valley walk

AM

Breakfast in accommodation.

Choice of hike up Scafell Pike, Great Gable (6-7 hours) or shorter walk (2-3 hours)

Lunch:

Enjoy a picnic lunch with stunning views at the summit of your chosen walk (included in price)

PM

Second half of your chosen walk or afternoon at your leisure if shorter walk chosen.

Day 3: HardKnott Pass and Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage

Choice of:

Short walk (2-3 hours) (depending on previous days walk choice)

Enjoy a picnic lunch with stunning views en route (included in price)

Visit to a Roman Fort at Hardknott pass with spectacular views.

Excursion to Dove Cottage, the former home of William Wordsworth, and tour of his house and museum

OR

Drive through the heart of the Lake District over Hardknott pass, the highest road in Britain, and visit an old Roman Fort.

Excursion to the ‘World of Beatrix Potter ‘ attraction

Lunch at a restaurant of your choice in Bowness-on-Windermere (local recommendations available from your guide)

Excursion to Dove Cottage, the former home of William Wordsworth, and tour of his house and museum
£ Dinner at a restaurant of your choice (recommendations available from your guides, dependent on your return train time)

Transfer to Penrith Train Station and end of tour.
